Calling all artists!

Calling all artists.... Neighbours is offering you a unique opportunity to leave your creative footprint in Erinsborough.

As part of an upcoming storyline, an artists’ wall featuring different facets of Australian history and surburban lifestyle will become a permanent fixture of the set. If you would like to contribute to the Erinsborough History Wall, here are the steps you need to follow.

Select a category from the following:-

Sport – can encompass Olympics, suburban sport, Melbourne Cup, AFL, Rugby League, whatever represents sport in Australia

Art and Culture – all aspects of the arts – literature, music, dance, visual art to street life and pop culture

Transport – from the horse & cart to planes, trains and automobiles.
All entries must be original work and submitted as A4 or A3 versions of your design which will be replicated onto one of the panels (approx 1.5 metres x 1 metre). The design can be in any medium - paint, pencil or computer generated.

Entries close on Friday, July 29, 2011. Competition is open to Australian residents only.

A winner from each category will be selected and will receive a mounted photograph of their design on the Neighbours set. The overall winner will be given the opportunity to spend a day at Neighbours with a friend.





THE NEIGHBOURS COMPETITION TERMS AND CONDITIONS

In participating in the competition (“Competition”) for Neighbours (the "Programme"), you (“the Contestant”) will be deemed to have agreed to the following terms and conditions:

1. By entering the Competition the Contestant accept these terms and conditions together with any specific instructions and terms for the Competition which may be mentioned on-air, in any electronic messages, or on the website, or communicated to the Contestant in any other way (“Contest Information”). Such Contest Information shall prevail in the event of there being any inconsistency between these terms and conditions and any Contest Information.

2. The Contestant must abide by the rules, regulations, terms and conditions of the Competition as devised from time to time by FremantleMedia Australia Pty Limited (the "Producer") and you will accept the Producer's decisions as final and no correspondence will be entered into.

3. The Producer may cancel or amend the Competition, Contest Information, or these terms and conditions without prior notice. Any changes will be posted either within the Contest Information or these terms and conditions.

4. The Producer has no obligation to record or include it in the Programme and the broadcaster has no obligation to broadcast the material entered into the Competition by the Contestant or any part of your contribution to the Competition (“Entry”/”Entries”).

5. In the event of any fault, mistake, misunderstanding or dispute concerning the correctness or acceptability of the Entry, or the operation of any part of the Competition, the decision of the Producer shall be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

6. Any Entries which are incomplete, incorrect, inaudible, incomprehensible, or not received by the Producer will be void.

7. The Producer will not be liable to reimburse any expenses incurred in entering the Competition.

8. The Producer reserves the right to exclude any Entries from the Competition which it believes have not been made in compliance with these terms and conditions.

9. The Contestant must keep a copy of the Contestant’s Entry as it will not be returned.



10. By entering the Competition, the Contestant warrants that the Contestant is the copyright owner of any copyright works submitted and the Producer’s use of such works will not infringe the rights of any third party. Entries must be original works and must not infringe the intellectual property rights, privacy, or any other rights of a third party.

Entry

11. The closing time and date for receipt of entries is midnight Australian EST on Friday 29 July.

12. To enter the Contest, Contestants must do the following:

i. go to http://www.neighbours.com.au/ and select a category from the following:

· SPORT – can encompass Olympics, suburban sport, Melbourne Cup, AFL, Rugby League, or whatever you feel represents sport in Australia;

· ART AND CULTURE – all aspects of the arts – literature, music, dance, visual art to street life and pop culture;

· TRANSPORT – from the horse & cart to trains, trams, buses, aviation etc (“Category”)

ii. When you have selected your era in history, draw or paint your design on an A3 or A4 sheet of paper or card. Your design should be a scaled down version of how you would see it enlarged in a vertical or horizontal position. The design can be in any medium – paint, pencil or computer generated.

iii. All entries must be original work.

iv. Send your design to: Neighbours Art Department, 100 Hawthorn Road, Nunawading, Victoria 3131.



13. By entering the Competition, Contestants understand and agrees that:

a) With full title and guarantee the Contestant hereby assigns irrevocably to the Producer all right, title and interest (including without limitation, all copyright) in and to any and all Competition Entries in any and all media now known or hereafter devised throughout the universe, in any language, in perpetuity.



b) The Producer may duplicate, alter, adapt, and utilise the Entries as they wish at anytime, anywhere and by any means, including but not limited to broadcasting the Entries. The Producer may licence, authorise or otherwise transfer the rights in the Entries to others to do the same;

c) The Contestant consents to the Producer, its successors and assigns, doing or omitting to do anything, for any purpose, which may infringe any moral rights granted to you under the Copyright Act (1968) (Cth) in connection with the Entries and/or the Competition including the right to edit, change, copy, add to, take from, adapt and/or translate the Entries in any manner or context.



d) The Producer owns physical property in Entries submitted.



14. The Producer (including their employees, officers, servants, agents) or any other party or organisation (including their, employees, officers, servants, agents) involved in the management, promotion, or administration of the Competition, or implementation of any Prize (or their agents or subsidiaries involved in any way in the Competition or any Prize) (together the “Competition Parties”) will not accept responsibility or liability for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft, destruction, alteration of, or unauthorised access to Entries, or Entries which have been lost in transmission.

Publicity

15. Contestants will not, without the Producer’s prior written consent disclose, publicise or discuss with any third party any information relating to their Entry, their progress in the Competition, the administration of the Competition, any other Contestants or any other information which may come to their attention (including without limitation in relation to any of the Competition Parties) save where such information is already public knowledge.

Finalist selection

16. The Producer will shortlist 3 Contestants (one winner per Category) (“the Finalist Contestants”) from all eligible entries received by the closing time and date. The Finalist Contestants will be contacted by the Producer via email;

17. From the Finalist Contestants one (1) winner will be chosen by a panel of judges (to include representatives from FremantleMedia Australia Ltd from the art, production and writing departments. The winner will then be contacted via email.

18. The decision of the Producer and the panel of judges are final.

Prize

19. For 3 finalists, the prize is a mounted photograph of the Contestant’s Entry on set (which has been enlarged on to a panel) with some of the Neighbours actors and/or actresses.

20. The overall winner of the Competition will be selected and invited to spend a day on the Neighbours set with a friend in Melbourne with flights, transfers and accommodation included (“Prize”).

Liability

21. Nothing in these terms and conditions shall exclude or limit the Competition Parties’ liability for death or personal injury caused by their staff or supplier's negligence or for fraud. Subject to this, none of the Competition Parties can accept any responsibility for any damage, loss, injury or disappointment suffered by any Contestant entering the Contest or as a result of accepting the prize. The Competition Parties are not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any computer on-line systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software failure of any email or entry to be received on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to Contestant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in the Contest.

Standard terms

22. In the event that any Contestant does not, or is unable to, comply with and meet these terms and conditions and the Contest Information, the Producer shall be entitled at their sole discretion to disqualify such Contestant, without any further liability to such Contestant. In these circumstances, any Prize won by the Contestant may be forfeited. All Contestants must comply with any directions given by any Competition Party including but not limited to any and all relevant laws, rules and regulations.

23. These terms and conditions and the Contest Information shall be exclusively governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New South Wales.
